Get to workin’
Really, how hard is it to buckle down and work? I know I just talked about work yesterday, but it’s the topic again today.
All I want to know is the answer to that first question. How hard is it? If there’s a job to be done, then get it done. Don’t fiddly-fart around with it; just do it. Today, I worked with people who just plain don’t know how to work. One was some idiotic frat boy who talked on his cell phone all day, listened to his music and didn’t do jack crap.
Another girl was - well - she was tall. That can be useful…if you actually work. Just being tall isn’t enough, I’m sorry.
Basically I did the work of most of them. I told myself it didn’t matter. I told myself they couldn’t help it that they weren’t raised with the work ethic I was raised with. But still - it wasn’t amazing, you know?
And so I want to know the answer to that first question and I also want to know this…why is it that the truest, most diligent work ethics are born on the farm? Real farms - working farms and ranches. That’s what I want to know…is it so very much to ask?
